The Outstanding Chemodiversity of Marine-Derived Talaromyces

نویسندگان

چکیده

Fungi in the genus Talaromyces occur every environment both terrestrial and marine contexts, where they have been quite frequently found association with plants animals. The relationships of symbiotic fungi their hosts are often mediated by bioactive secondary metabolites, species represent a prolific source these compounds. This review highlights biosynthetic potential marine-derived strains, using accounts from literature published since 2016. Over 500 metabolites were extracted axenic cultures isolates about 45% them identified as new products, representing various assortment chemical classes such alkaloids, meroterpenoids, isocoumarins, anthraquinones, xanthones, phenalenones, benzofurans, azaphilones, other polyketides. impressive chemodiversity broad range biological properties that disclosed preliminary assays qualify valuable products to be exploited for manifold biotechnological applications.

Taxonomy, chemodiversity, and chemoconsistency of Aspergillus, Penicillium, and Talaromyces species

Aspergillus, Penicillium, and Talaromyces are among the most chemically inventive of all fungi, producing a wide array of secondary metabolites (exometabolites). The three genera are holophyletic in a cladistic sense and polythetic classes in an anagenetic or functional sense, and contain 344, 354, and 88 species, respectively. New developments in classification, cladification, and nomenclature...

Lactones from the Sponge-Derived Fungus Talaromyces rugulosus

The marine-derived fungus Talaromyces rugulosus isolated from the Mediterranean sponge Axinella cannabina and cultured on solid rice medium yielded seventeen lactone derivatives including five butenolides (1-5), seven (3S)-resorcylide derivatives (6-12), two butenolide-resorcylide dimers (13 and 14), and three dihydroisocoumarins (15-17). Among them, fourteen compounds (1-3, 6-16) are new natur...

Exploring the Chemodiversity and Biological Activities of the Secondary Metabolites from the Marine Fungus Neosartorya pseudofischeri

The production of fungal metabolites can be remarkably influenced by various cultivation parameters. To explore the biosynthetic potentials of the marine fungus, Neosartorya pseudofischeri, which was isolated from the inner tissue of starfish Acanthaster planci, glycerol-peptone-yeast extract (GlyPY) and glucose-peptone-yeast extract (GluPY) media were used to culture this fungus. When cultured...

Spotlight on Antimicrobial Metabolites from the Marine Bacteria Pseudoalteromonas: Chemodiversity and Ecological Significance

This review is dedicated to the antimicrobial metabolite-producing Pseudoalteromonas strains. The genus Pseudoalteromonas hosts 41 species, among which 16 are antimicrobial metabolite producers. To date, a total of 69 antimicrobial compounds belonging to 18 different families have been documented. They are classified into alkaloids, polyketides, and peptides. Finally as Pseudoalteromonas strain...
